§ 20-41. Connection after water service becomes available.

  • The owner of any lot or parcel of land within the city which abuts a street or other public right-of-way or easement containing water service, and if water service is available within one hundred (100) feet of any part of the lot, and upon which lot or parcel of land a structure has been constructed for residential, commercial, or industrial purposes, shall be required to hook up to the city water system at the owner's expense within one hundred eighty (180) days after written notice by the city. Failure on the part of the owner to connect to the city water system shall constitute a second degree misdemeanor and be subject to the penalties as provided in the general penalty section (section 1-9) of the city Code.
