§ 17-7. Number of taxicabs to be operated; failure to operate authorized number grounds for permit revocation.

  • (a)

    A person holding a permit to operate a certain number of taxicabs of a certain type must keep such number of taxicabs of such type in operation, except when the number of such taxicabs so kept in operation is necessarily reduced because of repairs to or replacements of equipment; provided, however, that the city clerk may, in his discretion, give a written revocable permission to any operator to discontinue operation of one or more taxicabs for a limited period of time, due to business conditions or other good reasons.

    (b)

    A failure to operate the number of taxicabs authorized by a permit shall, except to the extent to which such failure is permitted by the terms of this section, be grounds for the revocation of such permit.
