§ 10-61. Permits required; fee.

  • No garage sale may be conducted within the city without a permit having been first issued for such sale by the city manager or his designee, except in accordance with such permit. The permit shall set forth and restrict the time and location of the garage sale, and garage sales shall be conducted only in accordance with the restrictions and other matters contained on the face of the permit. There shall be an administrative processing fee of five dollars ($5.00) for issuance of a permit. No more than three (3) permits may be issued to one (1) resident and/or family or household during any calendar year. No permit shall be issued for more than the daylight hours of three (3) consecutive days. The total number of days during any one (1) calendar year for which one (1) resident/family or household may be permitted to conduct a garage sale shall not exceed six (6) days. The permit required by this article shall be prominently displayed at such sale. The provisions of this article shall not apply to sales of personal property made pursuant to a valid order of a court of competent jurisdiction.
