 Article 6. ELECTIONS

§ 6.01. Time of election.  

Latest version.

  • The elections for city council members shall be in even-numbered years on the following dates:

    (I)

    General elections shall be held on the date established by the Florida Election Code for the primary election.

    (II)

    [Reserved.]

    (III)

    Runoff elections, if required, will be held on the date established by the Florida Election Code for the general election.

Editor's note

Ord. No. 08-11, § 3, July 22, 2008, provided for adjustments to the terms of office of the mayor and each city councilmember in office as of the effective date of this ordinance shall be extended one (1) year to accommodate the change in the election dates from odd-numbered years to even-numbered years. Therefore, seats 2 and 3 shall be up for election in 2010 and the mayor and seats 1 and 4 shall be up for election in 2012.
