§ 6-20. Open burning prohibited.

  • It shall be unlawful to burn any trash, grass, trees, shrubbery, weed cuttings, pine needles or other refuse incident to the care of lawns, shrubbery, vines, trees and gardens. The open burning of building materials, lumber, logs, or any other combustible or noncombustible materials shall be prohibited. It shall be unlawful to burn garbage or other household rubbish or to start any brush fires upon any premises or any property within the City of South Daytona. Open burning shall mean any fire or combustion which is not enclosed and contained. Open burning shall not include fires in fire places, fire in barbecue grills or pits, the use of gas appliances, the use of combustion engines, the use of lanterns and the use of fish and game smokers.
