§ 5-298. Floating docks.

  • (a)

    No dock, as this term is used herein, shall be attached in any fashion to any shoreline, permanent structure or existing dock such that the length or combined length will exceed the length limitations for docks as provided in this article.

    (b)

    Nothing in this section shall prohibit the installation of floating docks so long as they comply with all other appropriate sections of Chapter 5 and the seal of a Florida registered engineer shall be affixed to all plans submitted for such docks.

    (c)

    No floating dock shall be placed or situated in any of the city's waterways so as to impede or restrict in any way the free and safe passage of any other vessel using or entitled to use the waterways of this state.

    (d)

    Any person, corporation, or other entity who violates the provisions of this article shall be punished by imprisonment not to exceed sixty (60) days and/or a fine not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500.00).
