§ 5-144. Requirements for plumbers.

  • Anyone wishing to engage in the business or trade of plumbing in the city as a master plumber or journeyman plumber, as a prerequisite, shall submit satisfactory evidence that he holds a valid State of Florida certification, or has passed the applicable written examination prepared, graded by a recognized testing agency and that he is registered by the licensing bureau of the State of Florida, or holds a valid certificate of competency issued by Volusia County. The appropriate documentation shall be presented to the city official upon request. If he cannot produce said documentation, then he shall be prohibited from conducting further electrical work in the city until such time as he is able to produce it.

    And he shall then be licensed accordingly. No person who fails to submit satisfactory evidence of the foregoing shall hereafter be issued a license as a master plumber or journeyman plumber in the city.
