§ 2-251. Motions—Precedence.

When a question is under debate the presiding officer shall receive no motion except:

(1)

To take a recess;

(2)

To lay on the table;

(3)

To reconsider;

(4)

To limit debate;

(5)

To postpone to a day certain;

(6)

To refer to a committee;

(7)

To refer to the city manager; or

(8)

To amend;

which several motions shall have precedence in the order set forth above.
