§ 2-237. Action on agenda items.

  • Those items classified on the agenda as items for consideration may be voted upon at the meeting, subject to the provisions of these rules governing motions and voting. Those items classified as items for discussion may be voted upon only: For the purpose of directing the city manager or city attorney to perform a function; to take action on a bona fide emergency; or otherwise, if an election to do so is made by an affirmative vote of at least two-thirds ( 2/3 ) of all council members in attendance at the meeting. A bona fide emergency shall be deemed to exist if there is a genuine risk that a delay in taking action will result in loss to the city or injury or damage to any person or property.
