§ 2-236. Classification of agenda items.

  • Agenda items shall be classified as either "items for consideration" or "items for discussion." The classification of each item shall be indicated on the agenda. Each council member requesting agenda items shall inform the city manager of the classification desired at the time the request is made, and the item shall be so classified. The city manager shall determine the proper classification of all other items. Classification of an item as an item for consideration shall indicate that a vote of the council is intended to be taken at the meeting. Classification of an item as an item for discussion shall indicate that the item is in the nature of a general discussion, report, and the like, upon which no vote is required or is intended to be taken.
