§ 2-174. Canvass of returns.

  • The county canvassing board shall canvass all returns of city elections when there is a simultaneous election being conducted by the county. The city's canvassing board shall convene when there is not a simultaneous election being conducted by the county. The city's canvassing board shall consist of the city manager, deputy city clerk and one (1) elected official who is not on the ballots being canvassed. The canvassing board, or an authorized representative if allowed by law, shall meet to canvass the returns and to perform the other obligations and responsibilities of a canvassing board. The canvassing board shall present the results of the election at the next regularly called meeting after the election.
