§ 2-168. Same—Oath required; duty; restrictions; authority to maintain order.

(a)

The clerk and pollworkers shall be required to take and subscribe an oath or affirmation, which shall be written or printed, that they will perform the duties of clerk and pollworker according to law.

(b)

The duties of the clerk and pollworkers shall include preventing all repeating and frauds and refusing to allow any person to vote who is not a qualified elector of the city.

(c)

No clerk or pollworker shall speak to or interfere with any voter concerning the matter of voting other than to perform the duties of clerk or pollworker.

(d)

The clerk or pollworkers shall possess authority to maintain good order at the polls.
