§ 2-148. Emergency purchases.

  • In case of an apparent emergency which requires immediate purchase of supplies, equipment or contractual services, the department head is authorized to secure by open market procedure as herein set forth, at the lowest obtainable price, any such supplies, equipment or contractual services. The department heads are hereby given the authority to act in the case of any emergency that might affect the public health, safety and welfare. Such action shall be reported in writing to the city clerk within twenty-four (24) hours thereafter and such report shall be presented to the city council at its next regular meeting.
