§ 2-137. City manager's purchasing authority and sales in excess of $3,000.00.

  • All supplies, equipment and contractual services, except as otherwise provided herein, when the estimated costs thereof exceed the purchasing authority of the city manager as established by resolution adopted by the city council, shall be purchased from the lowest and best responsible bidder after due notice inviting bids. All sales of personal property (except trade-in personal property) which has become obsolete and unusable, or the sale of which is otherwise determined to be in the best interest of the city when the estimated value shall exceed three thousand dollars ($3,000.00), shall be made to the highest responsible bidder after due notice inviting bids has been given as required by this article. Professional services shall be procured in compliance with applicable state laws.

Editor's note

Res. No. 04-17, § 1, adopted April 27, 2004, established the city manager's spending authority at $25,000.00. This spending authority shall remain in effect until a new resolution is adopted by the city council changing this spending authority.
