§ 20-73. Adjustments to water and sewer bills.

Latest version.
  • Charges may be adjusted when factual circumstances indicate the following:

    (1)

Water. If a water meter is proven to be inaccurate by testing, the average water consumption for the past month up to twelve (12) months shall be determined and an adjustment, based on that average, shall be made to the bill in question.

    (2)

Sewer. If it is proven that the water used did not enter the sewer system (i.e., an underground leak on the customer side of the meter, a broken water pipe within the residence, etc.), an adjustment will be made on the sewer portion of the bill in question, based on the previous twelve-month average water consumption.

    (3)

Swimming pools. An adjustment will be made on the sewer portion for filling of pools, provided the customer request either their meter be read prior to and after filling the pool, or they provide evidence of pool filling.
