§ 1-6. Certain ordinances not affected by Code.

  • Nothing in this Code or the ordinance adopting this Code shall be construed to repeal or otherwise affect the validity of any of the following when not inconsistent with this Code:

    (a)

    Any ordinance promising or guaranteeing the payment of money for the city, or authorizing the issuance of any bonds of the city or any evidence of the city's indebtedness;

    (b)

    Any appropriation ordinance or ordinance providing for the levy of taxes or for a budget or amendments thereto;

    (c)

    Any ordinance annexing territory to the city or excluding territory as a part of the city;

    (d)

    Any ordinance granting any franchise, permit or other right;

    (e)

    Any ordinance approving, authorizing or otherwise relating to any contract, agreement, lease, deed or other instrument;

    (f)

    Any ordinance relating to parks and recreation;

    (g)

    Any ordinance dedicating, naming, establishing, locating, relocating, opening, paving, widening, vacating or repairing any street or public way or lawfully established bulkheads;

    (h)

    Any ordinance prescribing traffic or parking regulations for specific locations;

    (i)

    Any ordinance dealing with acquisition of property by the city;

    (j)

    Any ordinance prescribing the street grades of any street in the city;

    (k)

    Any ordinance providing for local improvements or making assessments therefor;

    (l)

    Any ordinance dedicating or accepting any plat or subdivision in the city;

    (m)

    Any ordinance zoning or rezoning specific property;

    (n)

    Any ordinance providing for the compensation of officers and employees;

    (o)

    Any temporary or special ordinance;

    and all such ordinances are hereby recognized as continuing in full force and effect to the same extent as if set out at length herein.
