§ 1-10. Court costs for law enforcement education.

  • (a)

    Pursuant to Florida Laws Chapter 81-24, Section (8)(a), a two dollar ($2.00) assessment is hereby levied, in addition to any fines or other authorized levys, against any person convicted for violation of a City of South Daytona municipal ordinance or convicted for violation of a state penal or criminal statute within the jurisdictional limits of the City of South Daytona.

    (b)

    Said assessment of two dollars ($2.00) shall be used for criminal justice education and training including basic training expenditures for law enforcement and correctional officers, part-time law enforcement officers, auxiliary officers, and support personnel. Such education and training activities will conform to the requirements of Florida Statutes 943.14, or successor statutes.
