§ 17-16. Parking areas.

  • (a)

    The chief of police may, from time to time, promulgate regulations designating parking areas to be used exclusively, or in common with other automobiles, by taxicabs, in general, or by any particular operators of taxicabs, or regulations changing or withdrawing such parking privileges, and he shall report all such regulations promptly to the city council.

    (b)

    The city council may, from time to time, modify such regulations, and such modifications by the city council shall govern any regulations promulgated by the chief of police.

    (c)

    The issuance of a permit or of a license shall not be deemed to give any operator or driver any right to any particular parking area, and the right to the use of any parking area may be withdrawn at any time by the chief of police or the city council.
