§ 13-42. Fees.

  • There shall be no fee charged for a first response to a premises or for a second or third response within six (6) months after the first response. For a fourth response within six (6) months after a third response, and for all succeeding responses within six (6) months of the last response, a fee of fifty dollars ($50.00) for each such response shall be charged. Upon failure to pay any such fee within ten (10) days after the occurrence for which it is charged, the chief of police shall be authorized to deactivate the alarm system involved. Furthermore, should any false alarm fees remain unpaid, the city manager is directed to withhold issuance of the city local business tax receipt until such time as all false alarm fees are paid. Withholding of the local business tax receipt in accordance with this section shall not negate any local business tax receipt penalty as required by Florida State Statutes.
