§ 11-4. Penalties.

A violation of this Code shall result in the issuance of a city citation that provides the violator with the option of contesting the violation or paying the fine. The specific code violations that can be enforced through this procedure and the fine amount shall be established by resolution. In the event that the person issued the city citation does not pay the fine amount as set forth in the city citation within the required time, it shall be presumed that the violator desires to contest the violation. In the event a violator elects to contest the violation, if the special master finds a violation, the special magistrate shall have the right to levy a fine as outlined in section 2-303 of this Code.
